Considered one of the most notable artists of his time, Rauschenberg was apart of many art movements that shaped American art as a whole. Just like many people during his time, he was apart of the Dada movement and questioned the strsightforwardsness of art during the 1930s-1950s. With a mainly abstract view of art, Rauschenberg incorporated many different parts of art, from painting, to sculptures, to even adding textures to certain pieces of art. His collage work I found very interesting. It was different from the other two artists I researched, but at the same time you can see corresponding elements. His work was more toward abstraction and did not follow any particular formula. He used many colors that help make certain aspects of his collages stand out. His artisan be seen to pave the way for other movements such as pop art.

He used so many different elements into his work from all different mediums. As seen in Untitled (Salvage), 1984, he used various pieces such as paint splatters to photographs. This just shows how versatile his work was. He also worked with physical objects as explained in "Robert Rauschenberg" by David Churchill.
