The minimalism art movement was a refinement of art from the 1960s-1980s. Before then everything was abstract and showed the artist's views. It also had deeper meanings to the art itself. People like Donald Judd, Robert Morris, and many others redefined this meaning. They created art that was mainly geometric and had much repetition. Their art did not focus on a deeper meaning, rather just on the art itself. They believed art should be only about itself and created very simple but beautiful pieces. This was also the rise of art that was made from different materials and not a flat piece of art on a wall. The Picture attached is a piece from Donald Judd titled "untitled" from 1980.
