German graphic designer Anton Stankowski was very influential for his contributions for the theory of design and modernist art movement. After making a name for himself at Folkwangschule, Essen, a german art school, he was asked to join a famous design studio owned by Max Dalang in 1929. Once returning home, fighting in WW2, and being released from captivity, in 1952 Stanowski made his own design firm where he made famous logos and posters such as the 1955 Mercedes- Benz racing series poster. His unique style of using simplistic colors and minimal forms was highly renown. His paintings during the 1970s influenced the constructive concrete movement. Using geometric forms, Stanowski made abstract art with many different color choices.
